A little about me:
My name is Heather Horton. I was born and raised in Florida.....Go NOLES! I have been working with students with special needs since August 2009....8 years! I began working with students with special needs in the preschool setting, loved it so much that I went to graduate school for Special Education. I graduated from North Carolina State University in December 2011 with a Masters of Arts in Teaching Special Education. This is my sixth year teaching special education in the public school setting and my second year at Brooks Museum Magnet Elementary School. I am so excited to have joined the Brooks family and have felt very welcome. Thank you to the Brooks community!
Some fun facts about me: I am active around the community and love to exercise. You can usually find me at the various running races and triathlons around the area. I grew up in Panama City Beach, Florida. I spent 10 years of my childhood playing soccer. I moved to the Raleigh in 2011. I love to travel in my free time, and have many places that I still want to visit.
